Biography

Ferdinand Vega became the first athlete to represent Puerto Rico in archery at the Olympics. Vega competed in the individual competition at the 1972 München Games where he finished in 55th and last place. He also competed at the first archery competition at the Pan American Games when the sport made its début at the 1979 edition in San Juan, Puerto Rico. In 2013 Vega was inducted into the Santurce Sports Hall of Fame.
