Tommaso Costantino left the Antwerp Games with two gold medals. He only fenced in two of Italy’s matches in the team foil competition, but his contribution was enough to win the gold. He repeated this in the épée, fighting in two of Italy’s matches and taking home the gold. Costantino eventually stopped international fencing to concentrate on his practice as doctor, also leaving the Army. An ophthalmologist, he returned to Tunisia, where he was born, to direct an Italian hospital. He also supported fencing in the region, and in 1921 won the local title.
