Luis Lobo was an Argentine tennis player who played professionally from 1994 to 2002. Lobo specialised as a doubles player, achieving a career-best ranking of 12 in the world in July 1997. He later became a coach for several players including Carlos Moyá and Juan Mónaco.
Lobo won 12 ATP doubles titles with his first victory coming in October 1994 in Athína with Spain’s Javier Sánchez. Lobo and Sánchez formed a strong partnership during their career with most of Lobo’s doubles victories coming with the Spaniard. At the 1988 French Open Lobo partnered Serena Williams in the final of the mixed doubles but lost to the American pair of Justin Gimelstob and Venus Williams.
At the 1995 Pan American Games Lobo won a silver in the mixed doubles and a gold in the doubles and another gold in the team event. The following year he competed in the doubles at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics with partner Javier Frana but the pair did not advance past the first round.
