Abraham Eidlin was born in British Palestine to Lithuanian parents and moved to Uruguay when he was only six months old. After experimenting with football, he demonstrated considerable talent as a basketball player in his youth and at the age of 16 made his senior level début in Montevideo. Four years later, he was selected to represent Uruguay in the tournament at the 1948 London Olympics, having earned his citizenship less than a month earlier. At the Games, Uruguay placed fifth overall, but Eidlin did not participate in any of the matches. He continued to play basketball until 1960 and by career he was a furniture salesman.
