Biography

From 1969 to 2003 Manfred Kindermann worked at the Münster Institute of Sport Science teaching a number of sports including volleyball, along with physical education theory. Kindermann was also the managing director of the Institute of Physical Education in the 1970s, in addition to working as the chair of the members’ committee. With the University Sports Club (USC) Münster he had a successful volleyball career, also being one of the club’s founders in the early 1960s. From 1965 to 1970 he won six consecutive German championship titles in the Bundesliga. Following his playing career Kindermann coached the USC team, winning back-to-back German titles in 1971 and 1972. That same year he also coached the West German national team at the München Olympics.
