Zeeshan Ali

Zeeshan Ali was an Indian tennis player whose career spanned from 1988 to 1995. Ali reached a career-best ranking of 126 in the world in December 1988. During his career he won seven national titles.

Ali competed in the singles tournament at the 1988 Seoul Olympics where he was knocked out in the second round by Jakob Hlasek of Switzerland. He was a member of India’s Davis Cup team from 1988 to 1995.

Ali had success at the Asian Games where he won two medals. In 1990 in Beijing, he won a team bronze. Four years later in Hiroshima, he won a gold medal, also in the team event. Ali’s playing career ended in 1995 due to a back injury. Since his retirement he has coached the Indian national team and the Indian Davis Cup team. Ali is also the director at the National Tennis Centre.
