Biography

As an 18-year-old, Harold Brown finished second in the 1922 Metropolis and Southern Counties Championship, but greater things were not far away. Between 1925-28 he enjoyed a successful spell as a member of the Northampton Polytechnic Institute, London. The club won the National Team Championship in those four consecutive years, while Brown was the individual national champion in 1926. He also finished third in the championship in 1925 and 1928.
