Biography

Steve Cohen competed in heavyweight judo at the 1988 Seoul Olympics. He was 33-years-old in 1988, having come out of retirement to compete. In the 1980s Cohen and his brother, Irwin Cohen, were two of the top USA judokas. Steve won five US National titles in 1974, 1977, 1984, 1985, and 1987, over various weight classes. In 1986 he won a silver medal as a heavyweight at the Goodwill Games. Steve Cohen was a 7th-degree black belt. He worked as a judo instructor at his own club and became CEO of Z-Trim Holdings, a food ingredient company.
