Biography

Peter Jupke was a West German extra-lightweight judoka who participated in the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics but did not reach the final round. He had his greatest moment in 1985 winning the silver medal at the World Championships. He also won silver medals at the 1986 Europeans and added a bronze in 1983. In 1978 and 1979 he also won the international German Championships.

In 1980, 1982-83, and 1988 Jupke also won the national titles, and in 1980-81, 1983-85, and 1988 he also won the German team titles with TSV München-Großhadern. After his active career, Jupke became a longtime sports director and coach at MTV Ingolstadt.
