Biography

Ed Liddie attended Cumberland College, graduating in 1983, where he won the 1981 collegiate title. In 1983 he was fourth at the World Championships and the Pan American Games. Liddie won the 1984 Belgium Open prior to the Los Angeles Olympics. Liddie kept competing but never made the Olympics again after 1984. In 1991 he won a bantamweight bronze medal at the Pan American Games. Liddie later settled in Colorado Springs where he became one of the national judo coaches at the US Olympic Training Center.
