Biography

Grey McLeish was a student at McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario when he was selected to help represent Canada at the 1936 Summer Olympics as a member of the men’s coxed eights rowing team. The squad finished third in its heat and made it to the semi-finals, where they placed second in their heat and did not qualify for the finals, despite having the second-best time overall in the round. McLeish graduated from McMaster in 1937 and went on to have a career as a teacher prior to his death in 1957 in Toul, France.
