Biography

German bantamweight boxer Egon Schidan from Düsseldorf was eliminated at the 1952 Helsinki Olympic Games in the last 16. He was the German Champion three years in succession from 1951-53. Schidan was later employed by the cultural office in Düsseldorf, whilst his wife Jenny owned a flower stall on the market next to the town hall.
