Biography

Frank Richter was a German rower who won two Olympic medals with the eights, a bronze at Barcelona in 1992 and a silver four years later in Atlanta. With Roland Baar he won national titles in the coxless pairs in 1986 and 1987.

Richter moved up to the eights in 1990, and won gold at that year’s World Championships. Unfortunately, he could not defend his title the following year as he was injured. Nevertheless, he did win the national title that year. In 1992, Richter added a bronze medal with the eights at the Worlds, and in 1993 and 1995 was on the gold-medal-winning eights. By profession, he became a graduated architect.
