Biography

Edmar de Salles took up sport shooting in 1946 and was still competing, at the senior level, as of 2018. Over the course of his career, he attended one edition of the Olympic Games, in 1968 in Mexico City, where he was 34th and 55th in the small-bore rifle, 50 metres categories in prone and three positions respectively. He had better luck at the Pan American Games, winning bronze in the free rifle, three positions and small-bore rifle, prone team events in 1963 and 1975 respectively. By career he ran the family business known as “Casa Salles”, which began as a firearms trader in 1881, but has since broadened its retail base to offer a wide variety of items.
