Biography

Jack Warner was one of the founder members of the Ham and Petersham Rifle Club in 1906, regarded as one of the best ranges in England at the time. Warner was the club’s first captain, and held that post up to his death in 1938. He competed at the London Olympics and finished ninth in the Small-Bore Rifle (Prone) over 50 and 100 yards. However, he enjoyed his finest moment the following year. Warner not only finished fifth in the Queen’s Cup competition of the Society of Miniature Rifle Clubs (SMRC), representing Surrey, but with a score of 386 out of 400, he carried off the inaugural Bell Trophy for the SMRC British Championship. The competition was held over his home range at Ham and Petersham.
