Biography

Peter Rull, Jr. was the son of Peter Rull, Sr., his namesake who competed at five Olympic Games as a sport shooter for Hong Kong. The junior attended the Imperial Forestry Institute, as well as the British Army Staff College and Territorial Army Company Command Course in the United Kingdom.

After his studies Rull, Jr. enlisted in the Royal Hong Kong Regiment Volunteers in 1963, retiring in 1995 when it was disbanded, leaving as a Major. He was called into active duty in the 1967 Hong Kong Riots and was awarded the Efficiency Decoration/Efficiency Medal. He then worked in Hong Kong’s government services, beginning in the Agriculture and Fisheries Department, where he managed country parks and re-forestations of special areas. He then transferred to the Urban Services Department, working in the Leisure Services section, where he retired as the Assistant Director in 2000.

Peter Rull, Jr. competed at the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics but also appeared at multiple Commonwealth and Asian Games. He was made a Member of the British Empire by Queen Elizabeth II for his distinguished service and contribution to the British Empire.
