Biography

Keith De Casseres was raised at a series of exclusive boarding schools in Jamaica, including Munro and Jamaica Colleges. He was admitted to the bar in March 1934 and was a clerk to the Crown Solicitor from 1937 through 1939. At the onset of World War II, he became legal counsel to various wartime boards and, after the conflict, joined the firm Manton and Hart as a solicitor and partner. He later established his own firm, Marley & De Casseres.

As a hobby, De Casseres was a pistol shooter and, in 1960, was selected to represent the short-lived West Indies Federation in the free pistol, 50 metres event at the Rome Olympics. At the Games, he failed to complete the qualifying round and thus did not place. In the late-1970s he moved to Florida, where he spent the remainder of his life.
