Biography

Libby Callahan was a pistol shooter who competed in four Olympic Games for the USA between 1992-2008, missing only the 2000 Sydney Olympics. She competed in both air pistol and sport pistol. Callahan began sport shooting in 1980 when she joined the Washington, DC police department. She became a five-time women’s police revolver champion, and a four-time police service revolver champion.

Callahan started competing internationally in 1985 after she joined the US Army Reserve. Callahan won three medals (one silver, two bronzes) in pistol events at the 1992, 2001, and 2005 ISSF World Cups. She won two medals at the Pan American Games, with a gold in sport pistol in 1999 and a silver in air pistol in 1991.
