Jimmie Dorsey was a US Marine gunnery sergeant in 1972. He won the 1970 CISM title in free pistol and was 1969 US Champion with the standard pistol, and competed for a long time, winning that title again in 1987. Dorsey won two gold medals at the Pan American Games, in the 1975 team free pistol and the 1979 team center-fire pistol.
