Biography

Jim McNally competed in rapid-fire pistol for the United States at the 1968 and 1972 Olympics. He served in the US Army at Fort Benning, Georgia and was a combat sniper in Vietnam. McNally was Interservice Pistol Champion in 1971 and won the 1962 CISM center-fire pistol title. He was a member of the NRA Pistol “2650” club, and won the Custer Trophy twice at the National Championships at Camp Perry, Ohio. After leaving the military McNally worked for Glock where he and his sons designed the McNally Trigger for Glock pistols. He also worked as a law enforcement sales manager at Glock. His son, John McNally, competed at five consecutive Olympics (1984-2000), while another son, Ken, was a pistol shooting world champion.
