Pedro Galvão had the following podium finishes at major championships: 2nd in the 1951 Pan American Games 100 metre backstroke, 2nd in the 1951 Pan American Games 3×100 metre medley (with Orlando Cossani and the non-Olympian César Guardo), 2nd in the 1955 Pan American Games 100 metre backstroke, 2nd in the 1955 Pan American Games 4×200 metre freestyle (with Federico Zwanck and the non-Olympians José Izaguirre and Jorge Vogt), 2nd in the 1955 Pan American Games 4×100 metre medley (with Orlando Cossani, Federico Zwanck, and the non-Olympian Héctor Domínguez Nimo), 3rd in the 1951 Pan American Games 4×200 metre freestyle (with Carlos Alberto Bonacich and the non-Olympians Jorge Vogt and César Guardo).
