Biography

Herman Cederberg was scheduled to compete in five events at the 1908 and 1912 Olympics Games. However, he competed only in the 200 metres breaststroke in both years, but did not advance from the first-round heats.

Domestically representing the Palosaari Sports Club and the Vaasa Swimming Club, Cederberg won, amongst others, the Finnish championships in 100 metres lifesaving in 1908 and 1912 as well as the 4x50 m relay. In Olympic disciplines, he was the Finnish champion in the 1,500 free in 1906. Additionally, he placed second in the 100 breast in 1911 and third in the 200 breast in 1909 and 1911. In 1906, Cederberg set two Finnish records in 1906: in the 100 metres free with 1:26.2 and the 200 metres breast in 3:06.8.
