Biography

Willie Francis had the following podium finishes at major championships: 1st in the 1934 British Empire Games 100 yards Backstroke, 2nd in the 1930 British Empire Games 100 yards Backstroke, 2nd in the 1934 British Empire Games 3×110 yards Medley Relay (with the non-Olympians Merilees Chassels and Norman Hamilton). Francis also competed in the 1938 British Empire Games 110 yards Backstroke. In the British Empire Games he represented Scotland.
