Biography

Marianne Seydel was an East German swimmer who finished sixth in both the 200 and 400 IM at the 1968 Mexico City Olympics. Domestically, she won the 1967 and 1968 East German titles in the 200 IM event, finishing second in the 400 IM in1968. She swam for SC Karl-Marx-Stadt (after German reunification renamed to Chemnitz).
