Biography

Frank Kühne was an East German freestyle swimmer who participated in the 1980 Moskva Olympics. He was eliminated in the heats of the 100 and 200 metres events and also swam in the heats of the 4x200 freestyle and the 4x100 medley relays. He was therefore not awarded the silver medal of the 4x200 freestyle, as he was not one of the four who swam in the final. Domestically, Kühne won three relay national titles from 1978-80. By profession he became a swimming baths attendant at the Berlin Bäder Betriebe.
