Biography

Lutz Löscher was a freestyle swimmer who was eliminated as sixth in the heats of both the 200 and 400 freestyle at the 1976 Montréal Olympics. He was also a substitute on the East German 4x200 freestyle relay but did not swim. He won two East German relay national titles with his home club SC DHfK Leipzig. Löscher later became an author, writing mainly about the peaceful revolution in East Germany leading to re-unification.
