Biography

Renee Magee was a 17-year-old backstroker in 1976 when she made the US Olympic team. She would attend college at the University of Houston, and then earned a law degree from Houston. After practicing as a lawyer, Magee began working at the Harris County (Texas) District Attorney’s Office in 1992. She later became a Special Crimes Prosecutor and served as a chief in four Criminal District Courts. In 2013 Magee moved to the bench, becoming a judge of the 337th District Court in Houston.
