In addition to his Olympic silver in 1968, Greg Buckingham placed fourth in the 400m individual medley (IM). Buckingham attended Stanford and won one NCAA championships and four AAU titles in both the freestyle and IM events.
Buckingham died of a heart attack in 1990. He was the brother of Fleetwood Mac guitarist Lindsey Buckingham.
