Biography

Frank Kehoe, of the Chicago AA, initially tied for third place with the German, Alfred Braunschweiger, in the diving event at the 1904 Olympics. Braunschweiger refused to take part in a dive-off and the bronze medal was awarded to Kehoe. The Germans protested, and these were, at first, overruled. But two years later, the official result was announced as a tie for third place, although this was never accepted by the Americans, and the final result is disputed. Kehoe also played in the unofficial 1904 water polo tournament as a member of the Chicago AA.
