Biography

German diver Alfred Braunschweiger finished fourth on springboard at the 1904 St. Louis Olympics. Braunschweiger tied for third place with American Frank Kehoe, but the Germans protested this result, thinking that Braunschweiger had easily outperformed Kehoe. A “dive-off” for third place was scheduled but Braunschweiger refused to compete and Kehoe was awarded the bronze medal. Nationally Braunschweiger started for Schwimmerbund Schwaben Stuttgart and was German Champion in 1903 together with non-Olympian Waldemar Riemann.
