Biography

Cathy Boswell played in college at Illinois State University. Internationally she played for the US at the 1983 Universiade and 1984 Olympics, winning gold medals at both tournaments. She also played for the US at the 1980, 1982, and 1984 Jones Cup tournaments, winning consecutively, bronze, silver, and gold medals.

Boswell then had to play professionally in Europe and South America because there was no women’s professional league for her in the United States. She played for five years in Spain, one year in Italy, and seven years in Brazil, before returning home to play one year with the Chicago Condors of the American Basketball League in 1997. In 2015 Boswell returned her alma mater, Illinois State, as an assistant coach.
