Biography

Medina Dixon competed for the USA in basketball at the 1992 Barcelona Olympics, winning a bronze medal. She also won an international gold medal at the 1990 World Championships, and added another bronze at the 1991 Pan American Games. Dixon started playing in college at the University of South Carolina but later transferred to Old Dominion, where she starred. She led the Lady Monarchs to the Final Four in 1983 and then led them to the NCAA title in 1985. As a senior she was the Sunbelt Conference Player of the Year and a Naismith All-American. Dixon’s jersey was retired by Old Dominion in 2017.
