Biography

Ariane, sister of Constance Radfan, was on the East German volleyball team at the 1988 Seoul Olympics that won the fifth-place match against Brazil 3-1. She also won the European Championships in 1983 and 1987, and was silver medallist in 1985, and bronze medallist in 1991 (representing re-unified Germany). In 1986, Radfan participated in the World Championships.

Radfan won 282 international caps with East Germany and re-unified Germany. She played for SC Dynamo Berlin (1978-90) and USC Münster (1993-95). She was East German Champion from 1985-90 and East German Cup winner in 1983-87 and 1989. In 1984 and 1985 she won the European Cup Winners’ Cup. Between 1990-93 Radfan moved to Italy and played for Occhi Verdi Modena, and won the CEV Cup in 1994. Radfan later became a freelance IT consulting coach at Münster.
