Biography

Marianne Lepa was on the West German volleyball squad at the 1972 München home Olympics. The team lost all their matches and placed eighth and last, which caused the team to be severely criticized. Domestically, she played with 1. VC Hannover and helped them win West German Championships in 1968–73 and 1975-76. Lepa competed in the 1974 and 1978 World Championships as well as in the 1971, 1975 and 1977 Europeans. She is a member of the Lower Saxony Sports Hall of Fame.
