Biography

Nellie Horne won the Southern Championship in 1907. At the London Olympics the following year, when she was then Mrs Babington after marrying Major Stafford Charles Babington of the Royal Engineers, she finished 18th overall in the Double National Round, with a best finish of 15th on the 50 yards target. She went on to win the Northern Counties Championship in 1910, and the event the following year had the fifth best overall score, but did win the prize for the most hits.
