Biography

Elaina Oden was a college volleyballer at the University of the Pacific, helping them win two NCAA titles. She was on the US national team from 1990-97 as a middle blocker. In addition to her two Olympic appearances, Oden appeared for the USA in 13 major international tournaments, also winning a gold medal at the 1995 FIVB World Grand Prix. After college, Oden played professionally in Italy with Fulgor Fidenza from 1992-94.

Oden later became a volleyball coach, starting as an assistant at Notre Dame and then Indiana University. She has also coached boys and girls on various club and high school teams. Oden came from a volleyball family. Her sister Kim Oden played for the USA at the 1988 and 1992 Olympics, while another sister, Beverly Oden, played alongside Elaina on the 1992 and 1996 Olympic teams.
