Biography

Max Amann played for the German gold medal winning water polo team at the 1928 Amsterdam Olympic Games. He was also a European Champion in 1931, second in 1934, and third in 1926. With SC Hellas Magdeburg Amann earned German national titles in 1924-26, 1928-31, and 1933. Amann added another German title swimming with the 4x100 medley relay in 1924. Amman went missing in action in 1944 or 1945, with his official date of death given as 24 December 1945.
