Biography

Mexican-born German water polo player Raúl de la Peña participated in the 1992 Barcelona and the 1996 Atlanta Olympics. He finished seventh and ninth respectively with the German teams. Nationally, he played with Wasserfreunde Spandau 04 from 1987-92. He helped them win the German Championship in 1985-92 and 1998, and also the German Cup in 1985-87 and 1990-91. In 1988, they also won the European Champions Cup. In 1992 he moved to SSF Delphin Wuppertal, and in 1996 to SV Würzburg 05, before returning to Spandau. After his retirement he turned to coaching.
