Ludger Weeke

Ludger Weeke was a three-time Olympian water polo player, playing for West Germany when they finished 10th at the 1968 Mexico City Olympics. Four years later in München the team came in an unfortunate fourth, and in 1976 in Montréal the team placed sixth. In total, he earned 180 international caps. Domestically Weeke played with Rote Erde Hamm and helped them to win West German titles in 1969, 1971, 1973, and 1975. In 2013 he won the Senior Europeans and in 2017 the Senior Worlds. Weeke worked as a water polo coach and coached the Bundesliga team of Rote Erde Hamm from 1991-93, and from 1985-90 the youth team.
