Biography

West German wrestler Horst Bergmann was eliminated early in the lightweight class of the freestyle tournament at the 1960 Roma Olympics. He lost his first two fights and collected six bad points. In West Germany he earned the national titles in 1960 and 1965. He became a youth coach for his home club AC Lichtenfels after his active career. Bergmann earned his living by owning a beverages shop. He died in 2016 after a long illness, only a few months after his beloved wife Heidi.
