Biography

German Greco-Roman wrestler Erik Hahn finished an unfortunate fourth at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics in the welterweight class. He started his youth wrestling career early in 1978 in the former GDR. In 1991 Hahn won his first international medal with a silver at the Military World Championships, adding a bronze in 1995, and another silver in 1997.

Hahn’s best result at World Championships was a fifth place in 1995. The following year, he won the bronze medal at the Europeans. Domestically, he won seven national titles in 1992-93, 1995, and 1997-2000.
