Christian Jebe was the son of Johan Fredrik Jebe, owner of a tobacco factory. Christian himself became a civil engineer and co-owner of Norway’s oldest surveying company, Nerdrums Opmaaling AS, which still exists. He married Edel Petra Hjorth Dietrichson. The couple had two daughters and two sons.
In the 1912 Olympic sailing events, the Norwegian boat Taifun, with Jebe as a crew member, won both races of the 8 metres class and won gold in a superior manner.
