Biography

Basketball player Ron Legg joined the Birmingham Dolobran club as a 16-year-old and, within two years, made his England International début at the European Games in Geneva. He then went on to play in every one of England’s matches for more than 10 years, clocking up more than 40 appearances. A draughtsman by profession, Legg, the younger brother of Douglas, went on to captain Dolobran when they were one of the best teams in England in the early 1950s, and were the National Cup winners in 1950-51. At the 1948 Olympics, Legg played in all eight of Britain’s games.
