Biography

Basketball player Ulrich “Bob” Peters represented West Germany at the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics, finishing eighth. In total, he won 110 international caps. His parents moved to the US when he was only six-years-old and he later studied at the Wichita State University and played with the university team from 1975-79.

When Terry Schoefield, then German national coach, was looking for German-born players in his native country, he discovered Peters and brought him back to Germany to play with ASC Göttingen. Peters played with the from 1979-84 and then moved to BSC Saturn Köln for two more seasons. With Göttingen, Peters won the national title in 1980 and 1983.

Peters studied chemicals and biotechnology and took the name of his wife Trogele. In 2015, American Vanguard Corporation announced that Bob Trogele, PhD, had been named Chief Operating Officer and Executive Vice President of its principal operating subsidiary, AMVAC Chemical Corporation. Trogele has worked in positions of increasing responsibility within the agribusiness sectors of agrichemicals, biotechnology and plant nutrition.
