Biography

Alan Fyffe first won his Oxford blue as a hammer thrower in 1904 and was the winner against Cambridge in 1905 and 1906. In 1909 he placed third in the AAA Championships. He won the first javelin competition to be held in Britain and consequently was the holder of the inaugural UK record. Fyffe was a regular member of the Oxford University cricket eleven in 1906 but did not win his blue.

Personal Bests: HT – 43.43 (142-6) (1906); JT – 33.15 (108-9) (1908).
