Biography

High jumper Gerda Kupferschmied finished 12th at the 1964 Tokyo Olympics with the mixed German team. The same year she earned her only national title in East Germany. She was educated as a teacher at the Lausitz sports school in Cottbus, which was one of the earliest children and youth schools for sports education in the former GDR.

Personal Best: HJ – 1.75 (1964).
