Biography
Pole vaulter Günter Malcher was educated as a sports teacher. He placed fifth at the 1960 Roma Olympics and was seventh at the 1962 Europeans. Domestically Malcher had seven podiums from 1957-64, but never won an East German title.
Personal Best: PV – 4.80 (1964).
