Biography

German long jumper Georg Ackermann participated in the 1996 Atlanta Olympic Games but was eliminated in the qualification round. He won a silver medal at the Universiade the previous year, setting his personal best with 8.21m. That same year he finished an unfortunate fourth at the World Championships. Domestically, he won the national title in 1993 and 1995.
