Biography

Marisa Masullo earned 79 international caps for Italy between 1977-93. Masullo competed at the 1980, 1984, and 1988 Olympics as a sprinter. She also ran at the 1983, 1987, and 1991 World Championships. She won 10 medals at the Mediterranean Games, with 3 golds, 6 silvers, and 1 bronze between 1979-91. Masullo also won a silver and a bronze medal at the 1981 Universiade. She added a bronze medal at the 1983 European Indoors in the 60 metres.

Domestically Masullo won multiple national titles, with 11 in the 100 metres, 10 in the 200, 7 in the 4x100, 1 in the 4x200, 4 in the 4x400, 6 in the 60 metres indoor, and 3 in the indoor 200 metres. During her career, Masullo represented Pro Sesto Aics, FIAT Iveco, Sisport Torino and Snia BPD Milano.

After retirement Masullo worked in public relations and journalism. In 2011 she married Claudio Petrucci, a photographer and mental coach. She later coached in Roma with the club ACSI Campidoglio Palatino. In 2018 she became a member of the technical staff of Atletica Studentesca Rieti Andrea Milardi.

Personal Bests: 100 – 11.29 (1980); 200 – 22.88 (1984); 400 – 52.41 (1985).
