Biography

Throughout the 1940s and 1950s Ramón Wiltz competed for Cuba in international basketball tournaments. At the 1946 Central American and Caribbean Games in Barranquilla, Colombia, Wiltz was part of the Cuban team that won the silver medal. He had further success at the Central American and Caribbean Games, winning a bronze medal at the 1950 edition in Guatemala. Wiltz was a two-time Olympian, competing at the 1948 London Games and the 1952 Helsinki Games, with the Cuban team finishing in 13th place on both occasions. He later moved to Floridia where he spent the rest of his life until his death in Miami in May 2022 at the age of 95.
